Welcome to the Royal City!Exercise Neuroscience Group (ENG) is comprised of a group of Canadian scientists who share an interest in the application of neuroscience to the field of exercise and movement science. Originally dubbed the Ontario Exercise Neuroscience Group, the membership has expanded to include researchers operating as far East as Memorial University Newfoundland and as far West as University of British Columbia. The group has been meeting biennially for the Exercise Neuroscience Conference for the last 20 years. Traditionally a forum for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows to present work that is in progress or completed.

Dr. Enzo Cafarelli Young Investigator Award – Keynote Address In 1995, Dr. Cafarelli formed the Ontario Exercise Neuroscience Group (ENG) with the intent of bringing a small group of neuromuscular physiologists together with their trainees to discuss common interests in the neural aspects of exercise physiology in a student-centred conference. Founding this group, which was created to foster faculty and trainee interaction in a social environment best exemplifies Dr. Cafarelli’s passion for the field and his commitment to mentoring future scientists. Attendance has more than tripled and now includes young investigators from Canada’s east to west coast that were trained by the founding members of the ENG. The scientists that Enzo united in 1995 have remained a cohesive group that has together mentored a new generation of students and will continue to do so.
